You see this less in in-server groups because there are more effective consequences involved players can be found and excluded more carefully. More content will only give these people who would do this more places to do it. But a large number of online people say and/or do things that you'd never see them do in person, because the absence of consequences mean they have the ability to do whatever they wish - and you can't stop them. This is always the case for all people: Not everyone does this. When encountering events that are not perfect, or in spite of them, players will use this opportunity to act out. For some, this is about power, but for others it is about the absence of consequences: You will not see that person again.Įnter the Greater Internet f**kwad Theory, a formulation of the online disinhibition effect: is present in which I've played (WoW from prior to implementation to mid- to late-Cataclysm, and in TERA, and now this game) the attitude has always been that the person who is playing has the right, if not the authority, to act in a deplorable manner. In other MMOs in which a dungeon finder, helper, etc. Why are there so many douche bags lately? I know no one likes spammy content, but god, the experience doesn't have to be that unpleasant.Ĭlick to expand.Content is in no way a "part of the problem." It is an excuse for the attitude, but it doesn't contribute to the result. That's not even all of what happened in that night, but what the f**k. Sure enough, as soon as one person quit out, he was gone. We knew what he was doing-he didn't want the delay-, so we all stayed for 40 minutes, 10 minutes before maint., so he probably couldn't get another run in again. Well, the tank ended up dying, and after saying something smart, he just stood at the beginning and said nothing. My friend on Skype who was the healer: "f**k, I just disconnected." Me one Skype: "Over one mob, REALLY? That could have been dead in the time it took him to yell at me." Tank: "stop attacking that, they'll disappear."Īt that point, my friend told me the tank was freaking out at me, which I didn't even notice because I don't always pay attention to chat, especially when I'm on Skype. So like, I was on a mission to get my +1 weapon, so we continued to run WP. I almost told my friend to fold my earrings, so I could let him have it, but I didn't. Tank: "You know how to do this fight at least, right?! " We got to the last boss, and after saying nothing he said: Me: "I was told not to simply AOE them, because they have to die in order. Also, the tank wasn't pulling the mobs, so they weren't staying together. BY THE WAY, we beat it in good time, and no one died. I'll just include what happened last night: I want to include examples, but there are so many. Every DF and sometimes PUG run I do, there's someone who bitches about every little thing. Also euhm the community of ff14 can be fragile so watch out for that.I'm fed up with DF runs lately. DRG itself is just mediocre complex rotation, but being a guy who jumps all the time with dragon gear and such is lovely.Īnyway, I hope you dont give up hope. If you want a class with big BOOMS, then summoner or black mage are great buuut are hard. When you get out of the instance, all cds are reset so that you can go again. Why not just take a dummy? Well at the npc you choose how much HP the dummy has by selecting which boss hp you want, when you are sent to the intstance you get a time limit to kill the dummy. This npc is in some places where max players city is, so if you type on Google '' sea stone sky npc'' it will show you where the npc is in each expansion. But honestly, if you spend time with the rotations you can be on the top of dps list.įor this there are raids which say ''practice'', if you want to just figure out your rotation then you can head over to an npc. If even samurai is just too much, well then youve gotta stay with WoW. TBH WoW rotation is alot more easier and less punishing then the rotation of FF14, also with the mechanics. Now about the skills, well there are many guides on the internet of a certain class but thats just the surface of it since at every boss you have to time your certain big cooldowns or big spells/abilities. If you want the most easiest class to play then you can choose between a red mage or a samurai. That is how complicated the rotations are! It really shows one of the best things about wow: The simple rotations! The difference can be quite overwhelming especially if you have only played WoW. But if you want to raid, you need to be a pianist and able to press 30 buttons like a melody. I mean, the story is good and all and if that is your jam, then you will probably like it. I can't begin to explain how bad this game feels.
